Hey garden friends!
First up, I just want to say thank you for taking a little break from doom scrolling and clicking through to this website, and, now that you’re here, I guess I should give you a little introduction. I’m assuming you’ve landed here from my social media pages, and if you enjoy my content but would like some deeper insights, more detailed instructions and guides, and a little peak behind the scenes, The Potting Shed is the place for you.
I’m not one of those people who grew up surrounded by plants with their hands in the soil, gardening found me a little later on, possibly when I needed it the most. I had never really dabbled in gardening until I moved to Wales, where I was lucky to acquire the most beautiful cottage garden. It was clear that someone had really loved and cared for the space, so I felt a duty of responsibility to continue to steward the land kindly and carefully. But, once I started gardening, I felt an instant positive effect on my mental health. When I was outside, mindfully completing tasks like planting, pruning and seed sowing, I felt my worries fade a way a little bit. After just a few months, I’d transformed from an anxiety-ridden, shy and extremely timid person who could barely look strangers in the eye (let alone hold a full conversation with them) into a normal (I use that term very loosely) functioning human being. Gardening was the best therapy I’d ever had.
I thought to myself, if gardening could help me that much, imagine what it could do for other people. And so, I started creating and sharing gardening content to try and encourage people to give it a go. There are so many different aspects of gardening, whether it’s ornamentals, cottage gardens or lawns that you’re into, there’s something out there for everyone. It was growing my own food that really got me hooked. I’ve always loved cooking and eating, so having the freshest, tastiest ingredients growing right outside my door is the most satisfying thing for me.
That’s why I’ve created The Potting Shed - a place where I can share even more with you.
Here’s what to expect:
Monthly seed sowing lists to give you ideas of what you can sow in your garden and when
Monthly gardening checklists sent straight to your inbox so you never miss a beet (awful pun, I’m so sorry)
There will also be a paid option, where I’ll share in-depth step-by-step guides for garden projects, comprehensive plant growing guides, and seasonal recipes to give you some ideas of what to do with your harvests
I’d love for you to join our little community, you can hit the subscribe button below if this sounds like something you’d be into!
